Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, and is authoritative in all matters of faith and life.

(2 Tim 3:16; 2 Pet 1:20-21; Jn 10:35; Mat 5:18; Luke 24:44-45)

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things.

(Mat 3:16-17; 28:19; Jn 14:16; 2 Cor 13:14; Gen 1; Jn 1:1-3; Col 1:15-18)

We believe that God created man in His own image for fellowship with Himself, but because of disobedience to God, sin entered the world, and with it death - both physical and spiritual. Thus all humans are born with a sinful nature and with this prediliction to sin, apart from grace, are incapable of turning to God, pleasing God, and saving themselves.

(Gen 1:26; 2:16-17; 3; Jer 13:23; Rom 3:23; 6:23; 8:5-8; 2 Cor 4:4)

We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, and is truly God and truly man.

(Luke 1:30-35; Jn 1:1; 14; Heb 1:1-3)

We believe that salvation is wholly of God by grace on the basis of the redemption of the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for our sins as a vicarious sacrifice. All who, repenting of their sin, turn in faith to Him as their own Saviour and Lord, are saved by the merit of His shed blood, and not on the basis of human worth or works.

(Rom 5:8; Jn 1:12; 3:16; Eph 1:7; 2:8-10; 1Thes 1:9-10; 1 Pet 1:18-20, 2:24; Heb 9:26b)

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

(Jn 14:16-17; 16:13; Acts 1:8; 1 Cor 2:10-14; 3:16; 12:13; 1 Thes 1:5; Titus 3:5)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead, His Ascension to the Father's right hand, with all authority in heaven and on earth being given to Him. There, as our Great High Priest, He intercedes for us.

(Luke 24:13-25; Jn 20:11-18; Mk 16:1-8; Acts 1:2-11; 1 Cor 15:3-8; Heb 7:24-25, 9:24; Rom 8:34; 1Jn 1:9)

We believe that those who are redeemed from sin cannot be lost. The believer's salvation is secure because it rests upon the character of God and the certainty of His promises.

(Jn 3:16, 6:37-40, 10:27-30; 1 Jn 5:11-13; Eph 1:13-14, 4:30; 2 Cor 5:5; Rom 8:1, 29-30, 34; Phil 1:6)

We believe in the personal and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this "Blessed Hope" has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.

(Jn 14:2-3; 1 Thess 4:13-18; 1 Cor 15:51-55; Mk 14:61-65; 1 Pet 1:3-8; Rev 19:11-21)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead - the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; and the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.

(1 Cor 2:9, 15:21-25; Jn 5:27; Acts 17:30-31; Heb 9:27; Rev 20:11-15, 21:7-8, 22:1-5; Mat 25:41; 1Jn3:2)
